DEFENDER FITMENT GUIDE

 

"One question we get quite often: do SeñorBarbo seats fit a Defender 90", 110" ?

The short answer is yes—but there are a few important considerations to keep in mind.

First and foremost, this conversion is designed for Defender models (or County models with coil-over suspension) manufactured between 1983 and 2007.

Understanding the Fitment

SeñorBarbo front seats are built to Land Rover Series 2/2a and Series 3 specifications. They operate on a simple pivot-point system and rest against the secondary bulkhead (or crossbar on Station Wagon models) located behind the seats, often secured with a leather strap to keep them in position.

To install them in your Defender, you will need to convert to Series-style seat mounts. You have two options:

• Fixed mounts (see image) – these are rarely available new,

• Slider tray / angle iron mounts (see image) – these are more widely available internationally, but please note: they require original Series Land Rover sliders in order to mount correctly.

The Secondary Bulkhead

You will also need a secondary bulkhead for the seats to lean against. If your Defender did not come with one from the factory, you will need to source, fabricate, or have made a crossbar—similar to a bulkhead removal bar, but mounted straight across the vehicle. This is actually what original 4/5-door Station Wagon Series Land Rovers feature.

We cannot guarantee compliance with international regulations—such as Germany's strict TÜV standards—regarding the backdating of seats to Series-era specifications. SeñorBarbo accepts no liability for any consequences arising from this type of conversion.
